Today Pastor Grosvenor visits Psalm 116, and the story of Hannah (1 Samuel 1-2) as he considers
the role of godly parents.
Being a MOM is one of the most challenging vocations in life. We have observed it so often:
“The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world”
Woman, how divine your mission, Here upon our natal sod;
Keep—oh, keep the young heart open Always to the breath of God!
All true trophies of the ages Are from mother-love impearled, (i.e., made into pearls)
For the hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world.
(v. 3 of poem by Wm. Ross Wallace, 1865)

“JUST A LITTLE MORE.” Our “Manual for Becoming the People God Designed Us To Be” (Colossians) identifies “greed” as one of four cancers that have the potential of destroying our lives, our families, our church and our nation.

Our “Manual for Becoming the People God Designed Us To Be,” (Letter to the Colossians) identifies four cancers that have the potential of destroying our lives, our families, our church and our nation: sexual immorality, evil desire, greed and anger.
Initial identification of these cancers sounds rather insignificant. We tend to trivialize them as “weaknesses” that we constantly deal with like the common cold. They are just parts of life in this world — minor lesions — no big deal.
But they are significant. St. Paul says that the anger of God is coming because of these behaviors (Colossians 3:6)

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM RESTORATION ACT has become a hot button for our nation in the last two weeks. The wording of the act confuses me because “Restoration” implies to me that we had lost “Religious Freedom” and now need governmental action to restore it.
When we use the adjective “Religious” with freedom we are recognizing the significance of religion. A Religion is a collective system of beliefs about the divine, values and worship practices. The truth is that everyone practices “Religion” of some type—even atheists and agnostics. History reveals a tricky reality about human beings and religion—we want everyone to believe like we believe and live by our standards.How should we view "religious freedom" in light of scripture? - Apr 5, 2015Peace Be With You
